Scottsdale, AZ – FlexiVan Leasing is proud to announce that its fleet of technology-enabled SmartChassis® has surpassed 75,000 units. Ron Widdows, FlexiVan’s CEO, said “Reaching a SmartChassis® fleet size of 75,000 units is a milestone event for FlexiVan and our customers. Since 2016, we’ve led the industry in leveraging technology to transform the humble intermodal chassis from a simple trailer to a business intelligence platform enabling our customers to better understand and manage their supply chain operations.” As one of FlexiVan’s key GPS partners, Christopher Plaat, SVP and GM for Blackberry said, “We are proud to support FlexiVan on their expansion to offer GPS across their entire chassis fleet. BlackBerry Radar’s proven device reliability and robust data insights support FlexiVans’s goals of delivering greater visibility, operational efficiency, and smarter real-time decision-making to their customers. Together, we’re advancing a more intelligent, connected, and data-driven supply chain.”
FlexiVan’s growing fleet of SmartChassis® (late model premium chassis equipped with LED lights, radial tires, ABS brakes, and GPS-based telematics) has been deployed nationwide for more than 5 years. Keith Saunders, FlexiVan’s COO, indicated that “Our SmartChassis® fleet primarily supports our long-standing Managed Fleet product which offers unparalleled flexibility and certainty to our customers by combining the capability and reliability of a SmartChassis® with flexible lease terms and guaranteed availability. We have nearly 8,000 intermodal facilities geofenced, including: port and rail terminals, distribution and fulfillment centers, depots and motor carrier yards where transactional data is captured. The resulting customer value proposition goes beyond simply knowing where the chassis is located but providing insight on supply chain performance and efficiency.” Brian Webb, President Port Services for NFI Industries states, “FlexiVan has been a trusted partner to NFI for many years, delivering reliable GPS capabilities that strengthen our supply chain support for customers. Their innovative technology solutions have been instrumental in driving greater visibility and efficiency, and we look forward to continuing our growth together.”
FlexiVan processes over a half a billion chassis/shipment data events annually which provides a level of visibility and insight for our customers that is industry leading in the chassis sector. “We serve some of the largest retailers and motor carriers in the U.S who rely on FlexiVan’s real time data to manage their inland flows as well as leverage a variety of analytical tools, enabling quicker, better-informed decision making leading to enhanced supply chain efficiency”, said Widdows. The nationwide scale of FlexiVan’s SmartChassis® fleet ensures that its customers are uniformly served with the same premium technology equipped chassis regardless of location.
According to Ittay Hayut, CEO and Co-Founder of Hoopo, “FlexiVan combines deep operational expertise with a bold vision for the future of fleet management. This collaboration goes far beyond tracker installation – it’s about turning every chassis into an intelligent, connected asset that improves availability, reduces costs, and drives better decisions across the network.”
“FlexiVan is GPS-agnostic. Our proprietary IT platform can take data feeds from any GPS provider which enables seamless data flow, regardless of GPS device. This platform ingests a massive amount of data that is synthesized into what each customer finds helpful for their specific operational needs. Our customers each have a single view/source of truth for all their movements through a customer specific portal. For those who desire additional insights, more detailed analytics are generated by FlexiVan’s Business Intelligence group.”, Saunders added.
FlexiVan is extending GPS equipped chassis into many of its private pools across the country.
